Not a Christmas Turkey!

Can you see me?

Can you see me?

Curl up and dye’s first collection has been completed and it looks amazing!

When we got told about the project, which was based on a Christmas carol, I was excited/nervous about it as I was intrigued to see what the outcome would look like and what idea we would eventually go for.

After brainstorming lots of ideas I decided to focus on when Scrooge awakes and he’s warmed by Christmas spirit and through this, he acts out in kindness. My inspiration came from his biggest act of kindness which is when he buys the biggest turkey in town for Tiny Tim and his family.
So my idea was quite random but it was to have the hair in a slick side bun on the top of the head and a silver platter to be place around with fake vegetables on top with the bun poking through the centre with afro combs to act as the turkeys wings and knitting needles as the bones, this bun was to represent the turkey that scrooge had brought for Tiny Tim. The other members of the team came up with some really interesting and unique ideas so it was hard to decide what to actually go for.
The practise run went smoothly and by the end of it we knew what we were all going to be doing on the day to create the collection. On the actual day it was very tense as we had a time limit to get the hair done and for the makeup to be all done for the photo shoot, it was interesting to see how it all fitted together to get the final piece and how well the makeup worked with the two ideas as we had the old scrooge and the new scrooge so it was complete opposite looks.

Hope you enjoy our collection :D
